The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine is one of sixteen interprofessional teams to receive a grant from the the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC).
Funded by the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation, the grants are intended to accelerate educational content refinement and submission to MedEdPORTAL for peer review.
Once accepted, these open-access instructional modules will represent the beginning of a national clearinghouse of competency-linked learning resources for interprofessional education and models of team-based or collaborative care.
Gerry Wickham, EdD, will lead the grant on Major Public Health Issue as a Vehicle for Interprofessional Curriculum: A Simulated Obesity Module Involving Seven Disciplines. Dr. Wickham is Co-Chair, Clinical Experiences; Manager, M3/4 Curriculum and McCowen Learning Community; and Co-director, Service-Learning Distinction Track in the The Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine at the The University of Iowa.
